I’m Joshua Renza, a Colombian-American journalist and Sport Management & Journalism student at Elon University covering soccer, sports culture, and the stories behind the game.
Growing up in North Carolina, I fell in love with soccer as both a player and supporter. Today, I cover the sport from multiple perspectives, including on-the-ground reporting from the FIFA World Cup, along with coverage of the USMNT, Charlotte FC, the Colombian National Team, and competitions across North and South America and Europe.
Renza Report features match analysis, game recaps, feature stories, interviews, and original reporting. My goal is to go beyond the scoreline by explaining the tactics, personalities, cultures, and communities that shape the game.
Alongside Renza Report, I work as an Advancement Communications Intern at Elon University, where I produce written and multimedia stories covering athletics, student life, and alumni. I also serve as a sports journalist for Rising Phoenix, covering Elon Athletics through match reporting, interviews, photography, and digital storytelling.
As a first-generation American with Colombian roots, I’m passionate about using sports journalism to connect communities, tell meaningful stories, and bring readers closer to the people and moments that define the world’s game.
Whether you’re here for tactical analysis, matchday reporting, or the stories that connect people through soccer, I’d love to have you along for the journey.
